The Rosengarten Group (Gruppo del Catinaccio in Italian) is a massif in the western part of the Dolomites. The Dolomites are named after French mineralogist Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu who first described this sedimentary carbonate rock in the late 18th-century. The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. Province of Trentino, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy.
The Vajolet Towers are a group of several peaks with the highest point reaching an elevation of 2821 meters. On the left, at an elevation of 2621 meters, the 3-story-high mountain hut named Rifugio Re Alberto 1° is dwarfed by the lofty towers. The east-facing side of the incredibly craggy Vajolet Towers offers a sheer verticality of approximately 600 meters. Province of Trentino, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy.
Langkofel Group (or Gruppo del Sassolungo in Italian) is a small massif in the western Dolomites. This view from the southeast shows three distinctive peaks with left to right; Sasso Levante, Punta dell Cinque Dita and Sassolungo (highest peak with an elevation of 3181 meters). Between the peaks of the Cinque Dita and the Sassolungo in a pass at an elevation of 2685 meters, a mountain hut is photogenically located in this stunning mineral world of ancient coral reefs. Province of Trentino, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy.
